DETROIT - The star of "Home Improvement" and the "Toy Story" movies is becoming a pitchman for Chevrolet. General Motors Co. says Tim Allen will be a spokesman for the brand and will star in a series of TV ads for the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze that begin airing on Tuesday.
Home improvement contractors often advertise in newspapers and on TV and the Internet. Don’t consider an ad an indication of work quality. Talk to others who have had similar improvement work done. Get written estimates from three firms. Ask for explanations if prices vary.
Almost 300 vendors will display products for every part of the home -- from the basement floor to the roof pitch -- at next weekend's Best of Fall Home Show. The sixth annual event, at the Ohio Expo Center, will feature products in three categories: home improvement, landscapes and kitchens.
